Biography

My name is Dermot Conlan, originally from Ireland I moved to the USA in my late 20's. I'm a photographer supplying images to several stock agencies. I started shooting commercially in 1997 and I'm based in Boston, Massachusetts in the USA. I have an ever expanding file of high resolution color photographs which are used worldwide in advertising, published in magazines, catalogs, calendars, as cards, and in a series of motivational posters.

Any special artistic influences?
Photographers Ernst Hass, Jay Maisel, Pete Turner and Eric Meola. Painting influences Vermeer and Caravaggio for dramatic use of lighting.
What is the best photographic advice that you have ever received?
When you feel you see an image before you don't forget to also turn around sometimes theres a better image behind you.
If you weren’t a photographer, what would you be?
Managing my small B&B overlooking the ocean.
