Certain information cross the symmetry axis of the brain decussation at the level of the optic chiasm, whereas others are unilateral. Then, all the visual information arrive at the level of the right and left lateral geniculate bodies, cerebral relays that transmit it to other neurons. These eventually relay them to the cerebral cortex at the level of the right and left primary visual areas.
