Biography

I grew up in a family that forgot to put film in the camera and sometimes neglected to include people's heads in snapshots, so it took me some time to realize I could express myself by creating photographs. Even now, I only get to do it part-time, as I am a technology designer in Silicon Valley, California. I like to create composite images that tell a story, and I'm drawn to architecturally interesting spaces, but I'll look for visually compelling images anywhere I go.

A summer learning from the fabulous teachers at Rocky Mountain School of Photography in Missoula.
What is the best photographic advice that you have ever received?
Simplify! Remove as much as you can from the image and you will increase its impact.
If you weren’t a photographer, what would you be?
Maybe an architect or a furniture maker -- I love to design and build things that people use.
