Biografía

Early in life I did a lot of drawing and aspired be a cartoonist. In college I considered an art major but decided it was impractical, so settled on architecture instead. Then the photography bug bit me hard and I haven't really looked back. The two streams eventually converged and I became an architectural photographer. Along the way lots of other subjects called to me and resulted in a body of work you could loosely call "travel photography". This work is what you'll see on the AGE website.

Any special artistic influences?
I admire and have been inspired by more photographers and other artists than I could list. Brett Weston is a particular favorite because of the intensely graphic, often abstract quality of his photos.
What is the best photographic advice that you have ever received?
Perseverance! If you're going to call yourself a professional, be willing to do whatever it takes to get the shot you want.
If you weren’t a photographer, what would you be?
Possibly some sort of naturalist, nature educator, maybe a park ranger. As it stands, I teach photography part-time and find it quite satisfying.
