Biography

I used to be a geography teacher with an interest in photography - taking slides to illustrate my lessons. I left teaching in 2001 to write lessons for the internet and set up my Geography Photos site in 2003 providing images for educational use. I am now a stock photographer supplying images to several agencies and libraries. My interest is mainly in illustrative, editorial images showing what places and like.- think textbook rather than glossy travel brochure but there is obviously overlap.

Any special artistic influences?

Not really. I'm not an artist. I'm a former geography teacher with a camera that I point at subjects that interest me.

What is the best photographic advice that you have ever received?

Shoot what interests you and what you know about instead of following others.

Writer or teacher.
