Finland’s based stock photography agency Kuvapörssi has recently joined the THP PhotoServices network becoming this country’s second agency using the platform to host and administer operations related to their sales of stock photography.

Kuvapörssi recently signed a distribution agreement with age fotostock, the well-known general stock photography agency with offices in Barcelona, Madrid, New York and Paris for the representation in Finland of its Rights Managed and Royalty Free collections: age fotostock and Pixtal. Together with the distribution terms of these two collections, Kuvapörssi joined the THP (Technological Hosting Platform), the web-based tool that allows for hosting and management of image assets, and decided to implement it to their systems.

By joining the THP network, Kuvapörssi has added nearly 60 represented collections, tallying up to over 2 million images to their portfolio, to a pool of images that is now searchable through a fast and efficient search engine developed and constantly improved by age fotostock.

Kuvapörssi means Photostock in Finnish. The company was founded in 1975 and it licenses stock imagery, both Rights Managed and Royalty Free, targeting mainly ad agencies, corporations and publishers. In 2008, Kuvapörssi aims to launch its own collection based on the work of Finnish photographers.

The term THP (Technological Hosting Platform), is defined as the sum of the working and marketing efforts of a group of people: image providers, distributors, and clients, interacting independently within the global marketplace. Management of the THP is overseen single-handedly by age fotostock.

The THP was introduced six years ago and has now evolved into a community of over 50 distributors, 270 RF and RM image collections and over 1,300 photographers, combining to form an impressive database of around 6 million high-resolution files residing on age fotostock servers located in Barcelona, Spain, and New York. Furthermore, another group of nearly 70 age fotostock distributors receive different levels of support as result of the technology emanating from the THP developments, which allows age fotostock to, among other things, massively process and keyword thousands of images in seven languages within a fraction of the time required for other companies to do the same.
