THP Photo Services, the software development from age fotostock that offers hosting and marketing services for the stock photography industry, held the 2nd THP Agents’ Meeting on June 4th. This gathering brought together a select group of members of international stock photography agencies that are part of the Technological Hosting Platform that the company started 8 years ago. The meeting took place at the Corinthia San Gorg Hotel in Saint Julian’s, Malta, coinciding with the 2008 CEPIC Congress, and brought together a total 57 delegates belonging to 28 companies from 21 different countries.
The 2nd THP Agents’ Meeting showed itself to be an excellent place for the exchange of ideas among companies that are distributing images through the THP network, and for discussion regarding the next steps to be taken to generate innovative value for them. Alfonso Gutierrez, General Manager of age fotostock, made an exhaustive presentation communicating current hot issues related to the users of the THP such as the refinements on the THP e-commerce capabilities allowing members to sell all over the world, as well as the research and developments made to further enhance the search engine of the THP web based network.
Another peak of the speech was the presentation of new and sophisticated management and administrative tools that are becoming available on the THP software. Time was dedicated to introduce easyFotostock, a Low Budget Royalty Free engine, for THP members that is going to be opened to the public soon. Also, age fotostock presented “xtreme!!” , a sophisticated collection of images extracted from the close to 700,000 images that age fotostock distributes from its almost entirely exclusive group of photographers.
Alfonso Gutiérrez´ comments on this 2nd THP Meeting were: “We are really pleased with the turnout and feedback we received from the attendees. The continuous advancements that are constantly being made to the THP platform are proving that the THP is giving real Value Innovation to its users.” Value Innovation translates, as described by Alfonso Gutiérrez, “…into a reduction of operational costs and an increased value to the clients. This is our aim as a distributors and producers of images, from one side, and as the creators and managers of the system that makes the THP network possible, from the other side.”
Joining the THP presentation, age fotostock invited Joel Huberson, General Manager of NewPhenix, the French company that develops and markets the state of the art technology that age fotostock and THP Photo Services are using to make the THP search engine even better through the adoption of many NewPhenix linguistic features. Joel Huberson gave an overview of the implications of their technology and the benefits it will bring to the end users, the clients that will visit THP websites in their search for images.
After a very animated and lively Question & Answers session, the group had an exquisite lunch at the Fra Martino Restaurant located at the same 5* hotel where the event took place.
