The historic street railway has been transporting Rio residents for over a century. The little yellow tram rattles along the track like an antique roller coaster. Starting from downtown Carioca Station across the Arcos da Lapa (a former aqueduct) it is riding through the neighborhood of Santa Teresa. Seating is on wooden benches, but the local daredevils prefer swinging from the tram´s outer poles.
