Stock Photo - Reportage on the daily life of Manuella, a 13-year old teenager who has type 1 diabetes. She was diagnosed when she was 9. She has a glucose sensor and insulin pump. The glucose sensor enables Manuella to check blood sugar levels regularly and easily, by scanning with the device. The insulin pump, controlled by another device, gives Manuella insulin throughout the day. Thanks to this device, she can add a bolus of insulin depending on her diet. At high school she has to cope with controlling her blood sugar levels and administering insulin herself. During her sports lesson her pump developed a problem. She goes to the infirmary to set up a new pump.
