Stock Photo - STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN Island of Skeppsholmen I just held a cannonball from 1615 dug up by marine archeologist Jim Hanson. It came from the Sceptre, a 33 meter long warship built by Gustav II Adolph, a warrior king from the era of Swedish military supremacy. The ship was sunk in 1639 to create a foundation on which to expand the island, now undergoing a quay-side upgrade. The hole, and remnants of the oak warship which rivals the Vasa in size, will be re-covered in stone and dirt never to be seen again.
