In the final phase of the Second World War, Wehrmacht soldiers and SS murdered several thousand civilians in Italy. 75 years ago, in the region around Fivizzano in northern Tuscany alone, almost 400 men, women, old people and children were murdered by the Germans, often in an unimaginably cruel way, in a massacre lasting several days.
