From the vantage point on the top of the 150-metre-high mountain a wide view opens up over the recultivated area of the open-cast mine with the Wolkenberg and the Steinitzer Berg as well as to the active mining recultivation. It uses spreaders, excavators and bulldozers to create the terrain profile for the landscape to be planted later. For this purpose, it uses the upper soil layer extracted in the open-cast mining area and selected for the respective later use. Photo: Patrick Pleul/dpa-Zentralbild/ZB. - Welzow/Brandenburg/Germany
