The sale of the abandoned town in historic Connecticut - will take the spotlight on an auction on Tuesday at an opening price of 800,000 dollars. It lies about 30 minutes south of Hartford, the capital of the New England state. The owner apparently listed the property as a ghost town right before Halloween, which is Friday, hoping to draw more bidders. Developed in 1842 as a mill town, the 25-hectare property includes houses, a chapel, city hall and general store. Some of the buildings were moved there from other locations in a failed attempt to turn it into a tourist attraction in recent decades. In its better days, the town produced twine for use in fishnets. Since the death of the previous owners in 1998, the village has been completely uninhabited, ABC reported.
