Stock Photo - Net-winged Beetle, Lygistopterus sanguineus. Crimson elongated beetle that looks similar to a soldier beetle, but belongs to Lycidae. Elytra are crimson, black legs with 11 segment antennae. Pronotum has flared edges and is red and black, distinctly different from Cantharidae. Elytra end edges are broader and more rounded than Cantharidae. Predacious larvae develop in decaying wood or in leaf litter. Adults feed on flower pollen and found in woodland clearings, edges amd meadows.
