The Monument to Berlin and the Murdered Jews of Europe is a field of 2,700 concrete slabs, or ´stelae´, arranged in a grid pattern on a sloping field near the Brandenburg Gate in the Friedrichstadt neighborhood. Designed by architect Peter Eisenman and engineer Buro Happold. Completed December 15, 2004.
