Stock Photo - Aerial view of the Okavango Delta, Botswana. The vast inland delta is formed from the Okavango River. This flows into the Delta, creating a beautiful mosaic of water channels, grasslands, forests and lagoons. The water never reaches the sea, instead emptying itself into the burning Kalahari sands of northern Botswana. The Okavango Delta is home to a rich array of wildlife. Elephants, Cape buffalo, hippopotamus, impala, zebras, lechwe and wildebeest are just some of the large mammals can be found in abundance, drawing in predators such as lions, leopards, African wild dog, cheetah and crocodile. The largest concentrations of wildlife are found during the rainless winter when the Delta is one of the few sources of water in the region.
