Stock Photo - La Maruxaina is a festival of tourist interest held every summer in the Galician town of San Ciprián (Lugo), Spain. Legend has it that in front of San Cibrao there is an underwater castle where a mermaid lives. Some believe that the mermaid is good and helps sailors and others that she is bad and uses her charms to charm. At the Playa del Torno the mermaid has her judgment. The participants carry candles and lanterns to execute or defend the Maruxaina. A party with music and songs is organized.
