Stock Photo - Porma is the third largest reservoir in the province of Leon, after Riano, in the Esla, and Bárcena in the Sil. Built by engineer and writer Juan Benet Madrid, it is located in the municipality of Boñar. In 1994, after the death of Juan Benet, the dam reservoir was renamed Juan Benet, although popularly continues to be known as ""Porma"", named after the river on whose course is located. Its construction completely submerged villages Vegamián, Campillo, Ferreras, Quintanilla and Lodares and partially affected Utrero and Camposolillo who were also expropriated since most of their land are located in areas flooded by the dam.
