Stock Photo - 05 May 2018, Germany, Prora: Tourists are on their way through the 40-metre-high observation deck, the heart of the 1250-metre-long treetop walk. The wooden tower in the shape of a aerie surrounds a copper beech and is located at the Natural Heritage Centre at a beech forest on the island of Ruegen. The path inside the tower goes up 600 metres and offers unique insights to the life and development of the beech. The viewing platform with an overall height of 82 metres above sea level offers a vast view of the Ruegen landscape. The Natural Heritage Centre is surrounded by the about 1.900-hectare-big natural heritage area Prora. Next to the forest area, Prora also includes a great part of the Schmale Heath with the famous flint stone fields as well as the Buhlitz peninsula, Pulitz and Thiessow.
