Stock Photo - 10 June 2022, Brandenburg, Neuzelle: Dietmar Woidke (SPD), Minister-President of Brandenburg, speaks on stage at the opening of the extension of the Baroque garden at Neuzelle Abbey with the Catholic Church in the background. Based on the plans of the monastery atlas from 1760, the baroque garden was restored to its total size of five hectares. As early as 2008, the Neuzell Baroque Garden was chosen by the German National Tourist Board as one of the 53 most beautiful gardens in Germany. In 2021, in turn, the third construction phase of the monastery garden, the kitchen and herb garden, won the award ""Most beautiful park in Brandenburg"" from the Fachverband Garten-, Landschafts- und Sportplatzbau Berlin und Brandenburg e.V.. Bedding plants were shaped, fruit trees and typical cultivated and useful plants from monastery gardens were planted, walkways were elaborately preserved and reconstructed, and the location of former historical architectural features of the garden was skillfully recreated.
