Stock Photo - 11 August 2023, Brandenburg, Strausberg: Alexander Behrens, development engineer at APUS GmbH, stands next to a hydrogen aircraft engine he developed. APUS GmbH, a leading developer and manufacturer of hydrogen-powered aircraft, opened a test and final assembly facility in Strausberg on the same day. The facility is an important investment in the future of aviation and will help APUS further develop and test its hydrogen-powered aircraft. The complex's test center is primarily used for propulsion testing. To that end, a test stand has been built to test the fuel cell, batteries and hybrid electric propulsion system. APUS was founded in 2014 by Phillip Scheffel as an aeronautical design office and has been working on the future of zero-emission powered flight ever since. The company, which now has 67 employees, is based at the Strausberg airfield near Berlin. Photo: Patrick Pleul/dpa. - Strausberg/Brandenburg/Germany
