Stock Photo - 15 April 2021, Saxony, Leipzig: Construction workers dismantle parts of the 700 square meter glass façade of the Gewandhaus. As part of an energy refurbishment, the previous single glazing is being replaced with new energy-efficient UV-protective glazing. This will not only improve the energy balance of the concert hall built in 1981, but also better protect the famous ceiling painting by Sieghard Gille from the sun's rays. The roof and other parts of the façade and windows had already been renovated. The costs for the glass façade amount to 2.7 million euros. The work on the façade is expected to be completed in September. Photo: Jan Woitas/dpa-Zentralbild/dpa. - Leipzig/Saxony/Germany
