Stock Photo - 15 June 2020, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Stralsund: The former Franciscan monastery St. Johannis (Johanniskloster) in the old town of Stralsund. First mentioned in 1234, the Hanseatic city of Stralsund is one of the tourist magnets in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern because of the more than 500 listed buildings, most of which have been extensively restored in recent years with the trustee redevelopment company Stadterneuerungsgesellschaft Stralsund mbH (SES). In June 2002, the medieval old town centre of Stralsund was included in the UNESCO list of World Heritage Sites together with the Hanseatic City of Wismar.
