Stock Photo - 16 July 2020, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Mukran: On the driver's cab of a class 181 electric locomotive built in 1972, the control panel with German and French lettering can be seen in the repair workshop of Baltic Port Services GmbH (BPS). Several of the locomotives built from a small series at Krupp in Essen and AEG in Berlin - today, eight of the once 29 of these electric locomotives still exist - are being repaired for the company Schlünß Eisenbahn Logistik (SEL) near Neumünster in Schleswig-Holstein. During the GDR era, the workshop re-gauged rail vehicles from the 1520 millimetre wide Russian broad gauge to the standard track used in the rest of Europe. The workshop, which was taken over in 2014 by the present company Enon, based in Putlitz, Brandenburg, reconditions old locomotives and rail cars for use by private railway companies.
