The Harzer Schmalspurbahnen GmbH (HSB) largely ceased operations in mid-March with the curfews and restrictions to contain the corona virus known as ""lockdown"". The inns on the Brocken closed. Only the kiosks remained open at weekends. Since the weekend, the locomotives have been heated up again. In the morning, the first train left Wernigerode station with the destination Brockenbahnhof. However, the timetable is still restricted. From Wernigerode there are only two trains a day to the Brocken summit and from Drei-Annen-Hohne four trains a day.
