Stock Photo - 20 January 2020, Thuringia, Gotha: Friedenstein Castle seen from the Ducal Museum. After their theft about 40 years ago, five top-class paintings are being shown again in Gotha. The pictures were considered lost after the mysterious theft in 1979. In 2018 they were offered for sale through a lawyer of the Stiftung Schloss Friedenstein. In September 2019 the works were finally handed over. Now, after completion of investigations into their authenticity and condition, they can be seen for a week.
