Stock Photo - 22 July 2022, Saxony, Kossa: Phil Gäbler of the ""Knackiger Acker"" solidarity farm assembles freshly harvested carrots for transport on the 3,000 square meter field. For the second year, Phil Gäbler, a native of England who studied biological diversity and ecology, and his wife Anne, a graduate translator, have successfully grown organic vegetables for their current 42 shareholders. Members of the private households pay a monthly contribution to the small farm and can pick up their share of crisp fresh vegetables once a week. The field, which is worked without machines and only by hand, and two greenhouses can produce seven to nine crops fertilized with nettle manure, chamomile tea and field horsetail decoction in the summer and four to six vegetables in the winter.
