Stock Photo - 25 June 2020, Saxony-Anhalt, Quedlinburg: Poppies bloom in the monastery garden of Quedlinburg. The garden has a history of over 1000 years. In the background you can see the castle and the castle church. The way the garden can be seen today was planned by the Berlin garden architects Paul von Zelevski and Gustav Volkammer. After the dissolution of the monastery, the garden was sold and then put to commercial use. The monastery garden of Quedlinburg is part of the network ""Garden Dreams - Historical Parks in Saxony-Anhalt"", which wanted to celebrate its 20th anniversary this year. It comprises 43 of the most important and beautiful gardens in the state. Due to the spread of the coronavirus, numerous events and celebrations had to be cancelled. However, castles and museums have reopened and the historical parks that are part of the garden dreams can still be visited.
