According to the investigating authorities, the co-pilot deliberately crashed the Airbus A320 from Barcelona to Düsseldorf in southern France on 24 March 2015. All 150 people on board died. Among them were 16 pupils and 2 teachers from Haltern am See. All pupils and teachers as well as the mayor and church representatives take part in the commemoration ceremony in the schoolyard.
