Stock Photo - 26 July 2021, Brandenburg, Bad Belzig: The cobbled stairway of Eisenhardt Castle. The well-preserved castle complex on the outskirts of the town is a landmark visible from afar. First mentioned in a document in 997 by Emperor Otto III as burgwardium belizi, the castle was probably founded a hundred years earlier by an Elbslav tribe. The name was an expression of the wish for the castle to be hard against iron and impregnable. Today there is a museum of local history in the gatehouse, and from the castle tower there is a beautiful view of the town and the Fläming region.
