Stock Photo - 26 September 2022, Saxony-Anhalt, Helfta: Archaeological work on the outskirts of Helfta. During the excavations, the remains of the royal palace of Helfta were uncovered. In the late 9th century, Helfta is mentioned in documents as ""Helpide"" and ""Helphideburg"". In the 10th century, the presence of Ottonian rulers proves the function of the place as a royal court and royal palace.
