Stock Photo - 28 May 2020, Berlin: Due to the construction site on the federal road 96a near the border to the state of Brandenburg, cars and trucks are driving on the narrowed two-lane roadway. On the left the rails of the S-Bahn run just before the station Altglienicke. The 96a was built between Mahlow and Adlergestell about 50 years ago as a bypass and replacement connection for the B 96 leading through West Berlin. After completion of the construction work in the second quarter of 2021, there will be a four-lane road separated by a green strip and an approximately four-metre wide cycle path and footpath connecting Altglienicke with the cycle path network of the neighbouring municipality of Schönefeld.
