The Bauhaus artist Oskar Schlemmer (1888-1943) was responsible for the artistic design of the rooms. The house, which is owned by the Kulturstiftung Landkreis Leipzig, is considered to be a unique work of art worldwide due to its successful combination of modern architecture, painting and sculpture.
