Neugebauer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the John Cage Organ Foundation Halberstadt is standing in the Burchardi Church and holding the patitur of the piece of music ""ORGAN2/ASLSP"" by John Cage in his hands, showing the upcoming change of sound. In the former church, an organ has been playing this piece of music without interruption since 2001. It is said to last 639 years. On Saturday, September 5th, 2020, the 14th sound change of the John Cage Organ Art Project Halberstadt is scheduled. In addition to the previous five pipes c'(16'), des'(16'), dis', ais' and e', there will be two new pipes gis and e. The next sound will last until February 5, 2022, when the gis will be dropped again. If everything goes as planned, the performance of the piece will last until the year 2640.
