Stock Photo - 31 August 2021, Berlin: The palace on Pfaueninsel, located on the border with Brandenburg, is partially covered in scaffolding. The Prussian Palaces and Gardens Foundation (SPSG) will begin renovating the historic building in September. Since the house was closed in August 2018, expert and planning offices have examined the structure from the basement to the roof, analysed causes of damage and developed concepts for the upcoming repair and restoration. Now the house will remain closed for three more years until mid-2024 in order to implement the elaborate planning structurally. The Peacock Island itself, however, will remain open to visitors. During a press conference on 03.09.2021, 10 am, the planned construction measures are to be presented. Photo: Soeren Stache/dpa-Zentralbild/ZB. - Berlin/Berlin/Germany
