All nine Israeli hostages, five Arabian terrorists, and a Munich police officer lost their lives during the operation. The games were interrupted for 34 hours. Arabian terrorists of the group 'Black September' had attacked the Israeli accommodation in the Olympic village, killed two Israelis and took nine hostages in the morning of 5th September.
