Stock Photo - 27 feet of Rex the Lion now greets visitors at the world famous San Diego Zoo. The unique statue recently made its debut at the Zoo's front entrance. Poised on a single foot, visitors can take a 360 degree walk around and under the 20,000 pound deco-esque big cat. Rex the lion inspired the zoo's creation in 1916 over 100 years ago when Dr. Harry Wegeforth heard the caged lion roar after the Panama-California Exposition.
