Stock Photo - A Salvadoran boy digs clay for brick making on the hill behind a brick factory in Istahua, El Salvador, 21 December 2013. Child labour is a common practice at the artisanal brick factories, found mainly in rural areas of El Salvador. Poverty and insufficient earnings in agriculture force parents to employ their own children, in an effort to ensure the livelihood for the whole family. Children aged 8-10 are allowed to work slower, with smaller volumes of clay, while children aged 12 and up work regularly, 8-10 hours a day, 6 days a week.
