Stock Photo - About 200 taxis have complicated the traffic on the motorway crossing the centre of Prague, Czech Republic, since early morning on February 8, 2016 within the taxi drivers´ protest against the new taxi service rules introduced by the City Hall. The protesters blocked the motorway with their cars outside the Main Railway Station, leaving a single road lane free in each direction. As a result, long queues of cars have emerged. The protest has been supported by only a part of Prague's total of 5,000 taxi drivers. It was initiated by the Association of Taxi Operators (AKT), which negotiated about changes to the taxi operation rules with the City Hall last year until the talks ended inconclusively last November.
