Stock Photo - Corn smut fungus (Ustilago maydis) is a fungal plant disease which can infect the ears, leaves, stalks, tassles or the ariel roots of corn plants When this happens in the ear, instead of corn seeds, malformed tissue is formed which is full of fungal material. In Mexico this is seen as a delicacy.
