Timothy West, a little known actor before this key role, finds that he has tremendous sympathy for this long suffering Sovereign. 'Everything happened to him at the wrong time, there was always something that prevented him enjoying any period of his life' says Timothy heavily forced educationally as a child, repressed during adolescence and being deprived of an active responsible role as an adult, until he became King far too late at the age of 59, Edward makes a complex and fascinating subject for dramatic portrayal. Timothy lives with his wife - the well known stage and TV actress Prunella Scales, and his 3 children, Juliet, Sam and Joseph, on Wandsworth Common, in a a very Edwardian House!
