John Brown shipyards at Glasgow are renowned for having constructed many a well-known liner, and from their slipway-now occupied by the new Cunarder, the famous Queen have been launched. The new liner has been under construction since 1955 and will be completed by 1983 November 1968. So far 6000 tons of steel have been installed and many more will be required before completion date. When our picture were taken 1,200 workers were working on the new Cunard liner at that particular time, though the overall number of people engaged on the construction of this new giant British liner is for more, Our picture show only the part completed hull of the Cunarder and the various aspects of the work involved in bringing this enterprise to it's completion.
