Stock Photo - Gunter Kahlow, who is known as the 'truffle-hunter', presents freshly harvested truffles, which were harvested with the help of his Lagotto Romagnolo dogs Frida (R) and Tempi on his own plantation in Eilenburg, Germany, 01 November 2017. The trained shepherd, who has been pursuing his truffle passion as job for a couply of years now, planted more than 500 hazelnut trees, beech trees and oak trees on an area as big as one hectare. The roots were sprayed with truffle spores so the truffles can grow underground. The Lagotto Romagnolo dogs were trained as his 'work colleagues' and are able to sniff the truffles. Kahlow acquired his knowledge from French truffle experts and used it to build up his own truffle cheese dairy with a French flair.
