A Private view was held today at the Royal Academy of the Winter Exhibition entitled 'Italian art in Britain'. Among the exhibits are five large paintings which were found in a shed in Ireland - and which are identified as being the work of the eighteenth century Venetian artist Francesco Guardi. The paintings illustrate a sixteenth century poem on the Crusades. They are owned by Mr. Geoffrey Merton an insurance border of St. John's Wood, London.
