Stock Photo - Jul. 07, 1954 - Airline President in a Comet: Dr. Paulo Sampaio, President of Panair do Brasil, the well-known transatlantic airline, who was in England this week, photographed with Mr. John Cunningham, chief test pilot of the de Havilland Aircraft Company, in the cockpit of a Comet 2 at Hatfield. This is the type of aircraft which Panair do Brasil, Europe and the Middle East. Dr. Sampaio was accompanying a de Havilland test crew on one of the Comet 2 development flights for the Certificate of Airworthiness. After landing Dr. Sampaio said 'My confidence in these aircraft has never wavered. This flight today in the Mark 2 Comet Marley confirms that faith.
