Stock Photo - Jun. 06, 1957 - Seventh Regent Of The New York National Guard - Training For Bisley Shooting Competition: Men of the Seventh Regiment of the New York National Guard - were to be seen at Bisley this morning - training for their rifle competition with the Queen's Westminster. The competition was founded by Col. Sir Howard Vincent, A.D.C. to King Edward VII - when he offered a silver Challenge shield to be competed for by the ancient regiments 'As often as may be convenient'. The matches are held alternately in England and the States. Photo Shows Lieut. Vincent Vella - uses his carbide lamp for blacking the sights of his rifle - prior to shooting at Bisley today. the carbide lamps are part of the unit equipment - for this purpose.
