Photo essay on Gregory who defeated the testicular cancer. Gregory is undergoing a scanner so as to locate the metastases of the lungs and monitor its evolution. Gregory was 26 years old when he was affected of a testicular cancer. Mistakes in the diagnostic have delayed the start of the treatments and have enable the tumor to grow and create metastases in the lungs and the liver. Luckily, this type of cancer is one of the best cured today. Twenty years ago, it was killing 90 of the men who developped it. But at the advanced stage of evolution where the doctors from the Institut Gustave_Roussy in Villejuif have detected it, the chances of Gregory to overcome were sensibly reduced. The cancer and the medical treatments that fight against him are terrible hardships physically and mentally. To overcome them, a lot of moral strength is needed and the family circle is a considerable asset to succeed. This photo essay shows how Gregory has overcome this hardship, using his sportive temper but also the affection of his family circle, the love of his girl friend Solene, and the human richness of the caring personel who has accompanied him during those 18 months of suffering and struggle.
