Stock Photo - Royal Bengal Tiger Panthera tigris tigris This image was taken at Ranthambhore National Park Rajasthan India on 1st April 2009 In India tigers are widely distributed but the number is rapidly decreasing Habitat loss poaching and inbreeding are the main threats for its survival This image was of a territorial fight between an old female and a new adult male Generally male covers a much bigger area than females This tiger entered into the territory of the old female on that day and it has stolen the kill which was done by the female in the morning But nothing happened in the morning I was expecting some thing in the evening and in the evening trip in the forest I went to the same area and found both the tiger and tigress resting in two sides of the road We placed our jeep in a point where we predicted if they move they would meet at that point And the prediction was right They came in front of us and fought for 7 second The fight was deadly and the male was so powerful that female could die easily But the female was one of the most successful tigress in the forest and so it was so experienced that it could save herself from the male I was ready with my camera and didn’t miss to catch this deadly behavior of tigers
