Stock Photo - Singapore, Republic of Singapore, Asia - A Singapore Airlines (SIA) Airbus A380-800 passenger jet with the registration 9V-SKU approaches Changi International Airport for landing. Singapore Airlines, like most other major airlines, had grounded their A380 aircrafts and reduced their fleet size for the time being due to the corona crisis. After more than one and a half years the biggest passenger jet is now back in service, first on an ad hoc basis with short-haul services to Kuala Lumpur before returning to long distance destinations such as London Heathrow. The return flights from London will be VTL flights for vaccinated travellers only, commencing in mid November. Singapore Airlines is a member of the Star Alliance airline alliance.
