Foto de stock - 09 May 2020, Brandenburg, Am Mellensee: The observation tower (Sendeturm) at the former Sperenberg gypsum quarries. A circular hiking trail with a length of almost three kilometres leads along the edge of the former gypsum quarry to the observation tower and at about 80 metres is the highest point in the area. Gypsum has been mined in Sperenberg since the 12th century and until 1958, leaving behind several lakes. The quarries have been protected since 1998.
